Precautions for road marking construction in winter

1. The marking line is prone to bubbles and easy to fall off

Before the marking line is constructed, it is necessary to spray the primer first, and then spray the marking paint after the primer is completely dry. However, at lower temperatures, the primer takes a long time to completely dry. During this period, if the marking paint encounters high temperature, the primer that has not dried thoroughly will vaporize due to the temperature difference, and then form gas. The places where these gases gather in large quantities will break through the coating to form bubble points, while the places where they gather in small quantities will isolate the marking paint from the road surface, causing the marking line to fall off easily.

2. The marking line is prone to cracks

In low temperatures, the marking paint may produce internal stress due to excessive shrinkage. When this stress is concentrated in one place, it is very easy to crack. This crack caused by cold is not only related to the construction season and the performance of the hot melt marking paint, but also to the road surface conditions. In particular, newly laid cement pavements are more prone to cracks due to the presence of fragile mortar layers or maintenance films.

3. Glass beads are easy to fall off. The marking paint has reduced fluidity due to shrinkage, which leads to too fast solidification. The spread glass beads are not easy to settle and are attached to the surface of the marking. They are easy to fall off, resulting in too low reflection coefficient, which affects the acceptance of the marking project.
